Stoneybrook Ministries is a Christian ministry in Lebanon, Pennsylvania. We focus on living out biblical principles in our world. The early Church is our guide.
In modern US culture, the idea of separation between Church & State is prevalent. Our (Stoneybrook) goal is to preserve this separation. The church taught that believers are to be separate from the world (conescrate yourselves, Lev 20:7). Jesus prayed that God would preserve his followers from evil, and that while they live in the world, they are not “of” the world (John 17:15-16).
I do not ask that you take them out of the world, but that you keep them from the evil one. They are not of the world, just as I am not of the world. John 17:15-16
Consecrate yourselves, therefore, and be holy, for I am the Lord your God. Lev 20:7
As a functioning church recognized by the government, we have a written statement of faith incorporated in our bylaws. We practice regular meetings among our members. And we take the example from the early church, who did not start with elaborate buildings and scheduled services, but met in small groups and in houses and other out of the way places.
